Vampirella Classic

Issue 1 (February 1995)

Issue 1

Regular Cover - Frank Frazetta $2.95

  • Vampirella: Death's Dark Angel [José Gonzalez, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #12)

  • Vampirella: Who Serves the Cause of Chaos? Part One [Tom Sutton, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #8)

Original Warren stories from the early 1970s refreshed by the use of colour. I have to say the stories are so much better in colour than in the original black and white.

TRIVIA: In the Death's Dark Angel story it is revealed that Vampirella's bite kills but does not infect, suggesting that she is not a vampire as we know it on Earth.

Issue 2 (April 1995)

Issue 2

Regular Cover - Bill Hughes $2.95

  • Vampirella: The Lurker in the Deep [José Gonzalez, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #13)

  • Vampirella: Who Serves the Cause of Chaos? Part Two [Tom Sutton, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #8)

More colour enriched classic tales with the bonus of a stunning José Gonzalez centrefold - given the full colour treatment by Bear Byte Graphics.

Issue 3 (June 1995)

Issue 3

Regular Cover - Enric $2.95

  • Vampirella: Isle of the Huntress [José Gonzalez, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #14)

Just the one story, but a good one. Added to the usual colour centrefold is a four page gallery of some of Jose Gonzalez best work.

Issue 4 (August 1995)

Issue 4

Regular Cover - Enric $2.95

  • Vampirella: The Resurrection of Papa Voudou! [José Gonzalez, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #15)

  • Vampirella: Who Serves the Cause of Chaos? Conclusion [Tom Sutton, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #8)

Bear Byte Graphics have done a great job on the colouring. It's a shame they weren't around in the early 1970s!

Issue 5 (November 1995)

Issue 5

Regular Cover - Enric $2.95

  • Vampirella: ...and be a Bride of Chaos [José Gonzalez, art / Archie Goodwin, story] (from Warren Vampirella #16)

  • Vampirella: ...Beware, Dreamers! [José Gonzalez, art / T. Casey Brennan, story] (from Warren Vampirella #17).

Also included is a two page Vampirella of Drakulon preview:

TRIVIA: This story chronicles Vampirella's first meeting with Dracula, who turns out to be Drakulonian criminal! Rescued from execution on Drakulon, the mad god Chaos gives the criminal a new life on Earth, an infectious bite but the typical vampire weaknesses (sunlight, crucifixes, etc.). The unnamed criminal takes the name Dracula as a reminder of his home planet.
