THE VAMPIRELLA MAGAZINE INDEX.
|
Standard Cover (1985) - $5.95 The Vampirella Index is a fan produced document on A4 paper. Originally produced in 1985, and then reprinted in 1987 with a different cover and interior art by Stan Day the Index even got a positive mention in a copy of Vampirella! Stan Day clarified the difference between the 1987 and 1985 versions for me: "I have an older copy from 1985. The 1985 version has the same inside info but with different art on the red cover and none of my pieces on the cover or the inside. They were a mail order item. On the inside cover of the 1985 version I have, it shows Jim sold it for $5.95 so the 1987 versions were probably the same. He may have advertised it in the Comics Buyer's Guide publication. I used to sell copies of my artwork through the mail using ads placed in CBG years ago as well. This was all way before the internet and ebay and all that." Red card covers are stapled onto white interior pages which were photocopied as opposed to printed. As well as the Index itself there is a pull out mini poster (not stapled in, thankfully) which is a folded sheet of paper. The front cover, the mini poster and three interior full page drawings of Vampirella, and one of Pantha are by Stan Day. Credits Page Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Vampirella

thumbnail photocopy of the Cover of each issue Addendum Vampirella Guest Appearances Vampirella European Style Vampirella In Paperback Vampirella Collectibles Vampirella Model Kit Posters and Photos The Photos were available from Jim Rhodes, so presumably he was in regular contact with Angelique Trouvere. As a Vampirella collectible item, this is particularly rare. Not many were made (most likely, just a few dozen), very few people even know this item exists, and I have only ever seen one on eBay since the year 2000! On the good side, the one that did come up on eBay is now in my collection! I would like to mention the good service I got from Ed Kalb in Arizona, and how pleased I was when I received my copy of the Vampirella Index as it was in absolutely mint condition. If you are in the Mesa, Arizona area it may be worth taking the time to check out his shop. ED KALB |
