Nine Kinds of Dirt
Vampirella is tracking a vampire couple, but finds that someone has beaten her to the kill and the female is decapitated. Tracking the male
to his house, Vampirella is confronted by Shi (who killed the female vampire). The male vampire returns home and attacks Vampirella,
as a group of Yakuza attack Shi.
The Yakuza are easily defeated, but Shi and Vampirella argue over the male vampire whom Shi does not want to kill as she has no argument
with him. After a cat fight with Shi, Vampirella manages to kill the vampire and leaves.
A very cleverly written tale, with a good balance of Shi and Vampirella.
Though a relatively short story it was punctuated by references from Sun Tzu -"The Art of War", a tome that has become more popular
in the last fifty years than in the many centuries since it was written.
