Vampirella Battlebook
Not a Vampirella story, but a super hero game. Inside the front
cover is instructions on how to play the game - which is a sort
of role playing game where players take turns to fight other super
heroes/ heroines.
Each page has a full size picture of Vampirella performing a variety
of "fighting" actions (such as 'Throw Stake",
'Body Wound' and 'Flying Charge'), a table of scores/points
and comments such as "Tell Vampirella - Do no Red or Orange
next turn" and "Tell Vampirella - Do Only Jumps Next Turn".
There is also a tear-off score/points "Manoeuvres" card
stapled in the middle of the book.
Not my cup of tea - role playing, that is. I am almost totally
confused as to what the game is all about (though I have to admit
I only gave the Instructions the most cursory of inspections!).
However, the artwork is quite fun and there are a couple of dozen
pages of Vampirella in her "Holy War" spiked armour. Well
worth getting for the artwork alone, but if you can play the game
as well that's a real bonus!
As a collector, make sure that the card insert is still intact.
Anyone who has used this book to plat the game will have ripped
it out (and probably lost it ...), so when considering a purchase
ask if the card is still intact as this increases the value of the
book.
