Mark Texeira

Mark Texeira is one of those artists who has managed to "define" Vampirella with his art. Creating both covers and interior art for the Harris editions, Mark's work is distinctive and stunning. Well known and respected in the industry, Mark has produced a wide range of comic book (and other) related art (even beermats!). How much he is respected was recently shown when Harris Comics were looking for artists to produce the cover for issue #1 of the 2005 Vampirella Revelations series. Two covers were produced, one by the legendary José Gonzalez and the other by Mark! Best known for his painted work, Mark can also produce some stunning pencil work, and I consider myself very fortunate to have an original pencil sketch of his. I can say without reservation that no matter how good his art looks on screen or on the pages of a comic book it does not compare to the vibrancy of holding the original in your hands! Without doubt, Mark Texeira is in my all time top ten of Vampirella artists! |
