Jim SilkeAfter an extensive career as an art director, magazine editor and publisher, photographer, historian and screenwriter, Jim Silke finally returned to his first love: writing and drawing comics. His debut was in 1993, with Dark Horse Comics' release of Rascals in Paradise. He is also the creator of the erotic Bettie Page series, based on the famous pin-up model from the 1950s. Jim Silke has literally done it all. With a style uniquely his own yet reminiscent of the great pulp artists of the 1900's, Jim's art is truly beautiful to behold. Maybe it is just me, but I feel that Jim's illustrations have a definite Art Nouveau feel about them ... Harris managed to get Jim to create some stunning and iconic covers for the Silver Anniversary and Retro series, and the Crimson Chronicles trade paperbacks. I haven't found much unpublished Jim Silke Vampirella art, but what I could find is below. |
